I'm relatively new to comics, and a DC guy more than a Marvel guy for sure, but I decided to give Spider-Man a try, and boy did it not disappoint. The humor is fantastic, and the story is funny and sweet while also having some serious moments. It's well-rounded and incredibly enjoyable. I'm no art expert but the art in this issue was incredibly clean and fun to look at and definitely enhanced the writing. Again, because I'm new to comics, especially Marvel comics, I don't know much about the established canon aside from the most obvious information, but the book didn't reference too much from past stories as far as I could tell, which was nice. I realize this issue is four years old now, but the whole "Fresh Start" initiative caught my eye, so I decided to start there. I'll definitely be picking up subsequent issues of this series, and maybe try the Avengers series or something else. Hopefully the quality of this book won't disappoint me when I come across less awesome comics which I'm sure is bound to happen at some point. All in all, great story. I'm excited to see what else Spider-Man and Marvel have to offer. more
