Amazing tale. A beautiful ode to the character.

I didn't enjoy what I read of Bendis' Superman, but this one feels so refreshing. I love every line of dialogue. It felt so human. I hope it continues with this quality.

The premise is interesting but in the end everything is solved too fast. Jon changes his mind with the flick of a wrist and everyone's happy. It left me unsatisfied.

I have usually enjoyed Gleason/Tomasi's run, but this is not even a comic book. This is a conservative pamphlet that reads like propaganda paid by the government to glorify the US' past wars. Terrible writing. Even the dialogues sound too unnatural.

The "propaganda arc" continues. This road trip keeps feeling as unnatural as before. It's like the government of the US wanted to make people like the military and support war and paid DC to use Superman for it. Terrible writing. So unlike Tomasi and Gleason who normally displayed a great ability to write very human dialogues. Here, everyone is a tool for propaganda.

I don't give it a lower rating just because the art is good. Everything is rushed. Luthor's development go to waste so fast. Worst thing is that they keep pushing this extremely conservative Superman that adores the founding fathers and names them every time he has the chance. He practically says that the US is not an example for his world but for the multiverse (considering Apokolips is in its own universe according to the multiverse map). He basically goes there, he's named the protector and leader of Apokolips and he appoints his biggest fanatic as the leader instead. Imperialism at its finest. I've been hating this Superman since the road trip. It's like Miller's, except for the fact that Miller's was a satire so it made sense.

Great story. It has this All Star Superman style that is so welcome. Very hopeful and beautiful.
