Comic Bastards - Patrick Wolf Jul 26, 2017

If you're a fan of the original, you'll love this; if you've never seen the anime and want to know what all the fuss is about, this is a great place to start; if you're a kid, this series will blow your mind; if you're a grown-up, ditto. I can't wait for issue #2 and kudos to Titan comics for rebooting this classic: Read Full Review

    That's Not Current - Philip Hayton Aug 3, 2017

Overall, this fresh attempt at rebooting Robotech is a stylish endeavour that aims at modernising an animated classic. Fans of Robotech and Macross alike may be torn when it comes to some of the changes to the aesthetic, but at its heart, it's the classic story that we all know and love. It'll be interesting to see where the series is going to head, especially with changes to the plot. Regardless, it's great to see that Titan comics managed to get the licence from Harmony Gold, in order to give more Robotech to new readers and enthusiasts alike. Read Full Review

Comic Crusaders - Bryan Spaulding Jul 19, 2017

All fans of Robotech owe this creative team a debt of gratitude. We're given an opportunity to remember how the series made us feel when we were first introduced to it, but they've also found a way to keep it fresh. As the story continues to develop in future issues, they promise it will have some new twists and turns. I'm excited to watch this unfold. Welcome back old friend, I've missed you so. SnapPow.com - Harrison Rawdin Jul 25, 2017

Robotech #1 is exactly what I wanted it to be and so much more. With a high caliber creative team and a clear love for the original series, this is one title from Titan that more than earns a spot on your pull-list. So when you shop on Wednesday do the right thing and give into your 80s nostalgia because this is one issue you'll be happy to add to your collection. Read Full Review

    Comicsverse - AJ Zender Jul 25, 2017

Readapting THE MACROSS SAGA for new readers, ROBOTECH #1 takes on the source material in brilliant ways. With a potent plot and highly detailed art, this issue's only failing is in its development of its supporting cast. If you are a fan of giant robot fights, this comic is definitely for you. Hulking Reviewer - Kareem Ali Jul 26, 2017

Robotech #1 is a solid start for the series balancing action, character development and an entertaining story. The story fast forwards to the right point so even though the Robotech Project has been in place for years there's still a lot more to learn about it and the characters. The action is exciting, although the adrenaline filled transformation moment is slightly squandered here. However, I am satisfied with the start of the series and I'm looking forward to more. For new readers not familiar with Robotech, maybe you've heard of this legendary series but never sat down to watch it, I say start with this version. Wood and Turini have crafted a striking new take here without all the baggage and it seems geared towards a more sophisticated audience than what the original series intended. For old fans of the show, if you can come at this with an open mind and give this a chance I think we might be in store for something wonderful. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge Jul 27, 2017

Robotech is what got me into so many things but it's also a property that I don't believe has to be completely faithfully adapted. I'm hoping, based on this opening issue, that we're just getting the foundations laid out as before and then moving on to getting something new added to it so that it's expanded rather than just a strict adaptation. I'm a big fan of Brian Wood so I'm hopeful that he'll be bringing some new things to the mix here and his work with Marco Turini should bear some pretty good fruit. This should be fun for people new to the property but it may be a bit odd and uncertain for those that have years, or decades, of exposure to it and aren't quite sure why it's getting a new adaptation. Weird Science - Columbus Comics Corner Aug 5, 2017

The art in no way is bad and doesn't stick to original animation style. But with the nostalgic feel of the story, it could've better fitting to stick to the source. With a couple of off putting faces from Claudia Grant and Rick Hunter's portrayal as Tom Cruise getting off the set of Top Gun, the revised character designs work. All the mech suits and background art look great and are the eye candy of the book.Bits and Pieces:Take a trip down memory lane if you loved Robotech as a kid. Just don't expect a new tale just yet. New readers could honestly watch the first episode and get more out of it. Minus the clunky dialogue in the original show. Read Full Review

    Geek-O-Rama - Brian Belanger Aug 23, 2017

After all this time apart from Robotech, this was a great way to reconnect with it. Naturally, I'll be most anxious to see all the cool robots in action, but revisiting the story in general will be fun. Hardcore Robotech fans would be the best judges of how worthy this is of reading, but even more casual fans of the series or mecha might be interested. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Josh Begley Jul 26, 2017

Robotech #1 is a missed opportunity. It provides nothing for readers who loved the show, and it provides nothing for readers new to the franchise. It's a straight-up adaptation that relies too much on a reader's prior knowledge to fill in the blanks and feel some sort of emotional attachment. It doesn't do the work necessary to seduce a reader and make them want more. It's a shame, because I was very much looking forward to this. Dr. Josh gives this a". Read Full Review
