Batman (2011) #6 |
Feb 15, 2012 |
It's hard to imagine seeing this book lose its momentum in the coming months, particularly with the expansion of the Court of the Owls storyline getting ready to spread into the other Bat-titles, but we won't dare be upset with the talented team behind this title if they take a moment to breath. In a nutshell, this new title is delivering one of the finest crafted Batman stories to be written in recent years and we applaud Snyder, Capullo, Glapion and FCO's skills for delivering such a feat. |

With the Mirror villain story arc over and this new Gretel making a name for herself, Batgirl has earned itself a second chance for readers to become engaged in the series. The mystery surrounding the current events is sure to attract returning readers to the book and may even snag a couple of first-timers as well as Gail Simone continues to flesh out the foes, family trees and, indeed, Barbara Gordon herself in DC's 'New 52'. |

Avengers: X-Sanction #1 |
Dec 14, 2011 |
Since becoming a giddy lover of all things "Flashpoint/'New 52" this past summer, I've been really wanting to give Marvel another shot to earn some of my money before the year was over. After the (IMO) dismal "Fear Itself" storyline, this Avengers vs X-Men deal has really got me excited and has me looking forward to Marvel's moves in the coming months. Unfortunately, even giving it the benefit of the doubt that it's a 'set-up' issue and still has three issues to follow through with Cable's story, I just wish the book had done more to grab me and keep my excitement in the ring. |

Justice League (2011) #5 |
Jan 25, 2012 |
Alas, if Justice League can re-focus itself on something beyond the action sequences, there's still hope that it can reclaim its honorary position as the flagship title of DC Comics' 'New 52' lineup. |
