Intersect #1

Nov 19, 2014

Somewhat disappointed with Intersect #1. That said, I'm not compelled to pick up the next issue. Perhaps when a trade comes out, things might make a lot more sense. I'm just not going to wait a month to see what happens in the next issue.

Toe Tag Riot #1

Nov 30, 2014

Toe Tag Riot is something a little different within the zombie comic genre right now. A good read that reminded me not all zombie comics are created equal. Black Mask has been putting out some good stuff lately, especially Matt Miner's other comic Critical Hit. I'm willing to giveToe Tag Riot#2 a read nextmonth.

Goners #2

Nov 19, 2014

Overall, Goners #2 is a good read. Building on the momentum of the first issue, the second issue is jammed with action while keeping a good pace. This comic series has a lot of potential to be a great one, just hope that Semahn and Corona can deliver on the goods.

Goners #4

Jan 23, 2015

Goners #4 continues the roller-coaster ride that startred with the first issue. Semahn and Corona have continued to deliver an action-packed series that pulls no punches. We see the Latimer children step up to the legacy that is the Latimer name and accept their role in the world as monster-slayers.

Copperhead #3

Nov 13, 2014

This issue was a solid read. Faerber's written another great issue and Godlewski's artwork is beautifully done. This series is off to a wonder start and there's still a lot more to come.

Copperhead #5

Jan 16, 2015

Jay Faebaer and Scott Godlewski created a series I've enjoyed reading the last five months. The story was full of great twist that kept me guessing and wondering who's on what side. I'm looking forward to the what future issues will bring.

Feathers #1

Jan 12, 2015

Feathers has turned out to be a good read. I was pleasantly surprised by the story and loved the small little details about it. Again, I would recommend this comic for anyone, from kids to adults. I'm looking forward to the second issue.

Invisible Republic #1

Mar 19, 2015

Invisible Republic is off to a good start with a good story and art. It has something of "found footage/lost dairy" appeal about it which sets it apart from some other sci-fi comics. The reader is coming in after the fact and will learn, along with Babb, what it took for Arthur to become the man of legend he known as. There's an epic story being told from a personal witness to history, only to know that the witness is not accounted for in that history. I want to see where Invisible Republic is going and I will be picking up the second issue next month.

The Black Hood #1

Feb 28, 2015

The Black Hood is off to a good start. I hope that the team ofSwierczynski and Gaydos can pull off a realistic antihero story without the pitfalls that accompany such stories. I'm looking forward to the second issue because I want to see what they are going to take Greg Hettinger as the Black Hood.

The Humans #2

Dec 5, 2014

The Humans #2 is worth picking up if you want to read something a little different. It's a good mix of story, art and character development that makes you forget you're reading a comic about a biker gang of talking apes. Keller and Neely have created one of the most interesting and original series I've read this year, I'm looking forward to seeing what's coming up next.

Star Wars: Kanan #1

Apr 5, 2015

If you are a fan of the Rebels television series, then you should definitely pick up this comic. There are small nods to the show peppered throughout this issue, and it's certainly a nice touch. It's also nice to see Marvel develop Star Wars new expanded universe beyond that of our favorite characters from the movies. I hope to see more follow-ups to Kanan Last Padawan, perhaps revolving around the other crew-members of the Ghost.

Death Vigil #6

Jan 30, 2015

This is the issue that might have the most impact on the series to date. The series only has two more issues to go and I expect those remaining issues to be one hell of a roller-coaster ride. Sejic's artwork and story have kept me reading Death Vigil month after month. I hate havingto wait a month because I want to see how the members of the Death Vigil bounce back after what's happened in this issue. Not to mention, Sejic's run on Rat Queens starts in February. There's going to be somuch Sejic next month!

Descender #1

Mar 7, 2015

Descender is off to a good start with a good story and solid art. Having read some of Lemire's books before, I'm willing to continue reading the series to see if there's a bigger payoff. Nguyen's artwork is wonderfully done and creates a sense that this is going to be a story on an grand scale. Hopefully, this creative team will deliver something truly epic.

Feb 24, 2016

Overall, an absolutely wonderful issue. This one issue creates so much momentum heading into the final issue of this current arc. I really can't get enough of Wayward, it's such a great read month and month. Zub and Cummings really knocked this one out of the park that I cannot wait to see what's going to happen in issue #15.

Critical Hit #4

Feb 14, 2015

Good story accompanied by good art. Great way to end the series. Matt Miner has given us some strong female characters that are well-rounded and dealing with a very serious situation. The outcome will ultimately change them forever. Johnathon Brandon Sawyer's artwork is top-notch, he adds depth and feeling to what has become a very brutal ordeal for Jeanette and Sarah. If you haven't read this series yet, definitely put it on your list to read.

Rat Queens #9

Mar 5, 2015

The Rat Queens is currently in the middle of its second story arc, certainly not the best place for new reader to jump on. But this issue has been worth the wait. Pick up this issue and see what the fuss is about. Let's welcome Hannah, Violet, Dee and Betty, along with the rest of the Rat Queens crew back.

Red One #1

Mar 21, 2015

Red One is the first comic series of 2015 that could be a surprise hit. I think it's definitely worth picking up copy. Red One has a lot going for it, a great story and stellar artwork. The book is genuinely fun. I'm already looking forward to the second issue.
