Though very different from any issue in the series before it, Earth 2 #28 manages to be one of the best of the series so far. It's also not often we get to see “done-in-one” issues much these days, and this one pulls it off great, proving it's still possible to hit a grand-slam with the format.

While not a complete mess, Earth 2 continues to weaken in the absence of writer Tom Taylor. This issue fails to feel essential to the bigger picture, but I suppose it does answer some questions certain fans may have. And it leads us right into the Avatars going into battle, which I can only pray is an astounding visual and visceral return to form. Or at the very least, a satisfying issue to come out of either Earth 2 or World's End, because as with Green Lantern: Godhead, the steam feels like it's beginning to run out and pages are being padded to meet quotas. I believe in the concept and the characters and sincerely hope for a serious about face in quality and will continue to hold out for it, as the potential is just too good to completely let go of.

With issue #1 being pretty fantastic, it was inevitable that it would be a hard act to follow. The quality is not a massive drop, but for a weekly, balance is key, and this issue feels a bit weighted on one side over the other. Hopefully with time, things will smooth out. For now, it keeps the story fresh in our mind and moves us a step forward. I look forward to the next issue.

Earth 2: World's End #5 pulls together all the storylines thus far and balances them perfectly. I suppose like a TV show, a weekly book takes a few issues to work out the kinks, and it feels like World's End is about to ramp up and become the ride I've been waiting for. The patience of Earth 2 fans should be paying off in spades soon enough.

Earth 2: World's End is quickly becoming a favorite title, and the first weekly series I've actually made the effort to follow as it's published. The title continues to get tighter and more exciting with each entry… and we're only a month and a half in! Can't wait for next week.

Earth 2: World's End #7 aims high but falls a bit short. The progression isn't in large supply, and the action was a let-down. But we do get quite the “oh crap” ending. Hopefully next week will payoff in a way that this one failed to. Not a complete stinker, but a disappointment.

Earth 2: World's End #8 may very well be the weakest issue of the series thus far. While there's some decent writing and art, it's just far too crammed with subplots for any progress to be made. Next week really needs to bring some excitement to help the title bounce back.

I guess some people haven't been a fan of Billy Tan's pencils, but I for one find his work more than adequate. Sure, he's no Doug Mahnke, but he gets the job done, and appears to improve with each issue.

For those following the entire Godhead event, I think they will find a lot to enjoy in Green Lantern #36. Plenty is established and progresses, lots of meaty bits are presented, and there's an excitement to see where it goes next week. A strong, solid issue, all around.

While not filled with the bloated buddy-cop space opera stuff we've come to expect from the title, Green Lantern #38 is still a welcome and much-needed simpler issue to give us and the characters a moment to breathe, assessing their situations, and figuring out where to go next. It's fun, poignant and honest. Well written, well drawn and certainly recommended.

If you read last week's first two chapters of the story, you'll likely be grabbing this anyway, for completist sake. Despite it's lack of progression, Green Lantern Corps #35 has strong art and scripting, with plenty of satisfying sci-fi bits and super-heroic bobs.

Green Lantern/New Gods: Godhead continues to be an engaging and entertaining crossover, and this week's Green Lantern Corps #36 is no exception. I'm still eagerly awaiting to see some merciful actions from Highfather and his crew at some point so there's some distinction between those from Apokalips and those from New Genesis. They Can't all be bad, right?

Green Lantern Corps #37 does it's job, moving us nicely along in the final act of the Godhead saga. But the usage of multiple artists takes down a few pegs what is otherwise a solid issue.

All five Green Lantern book writers contributed to the story while six artists handled the pencils and inks. For so many cooks in the kitchen, it flows surprisingly well.

Green Lantern: New Guardians #35 is a satisfying addition to the unfolding Godhead saga. Kyle has always been (aside from Alan Scott) my favorite Lantern, and I'm glad to still see him being handled well and with respect here. GL fans enjoying the crossover thus far should find themselves satisfied with this book.

Green Lantern: New Guardians #36 lacks a lot of necessary story to make it feel as though it's strong as an individual issue, and aside from one particular moment, as an important contribution to an ongoing epic. Thankfully, the artwork saves what feels like a rather uneventful chapter in the Godhead saga. Though not bad, it doesn't come off as essential.

And the week prior to that, writer Justin Jordan announced his departure anyway, much like next week's Red Lanterns being Charles Soule's final issue. It's a tough time to feel as invested in the Green Lantern line at this moment with so much transition in the near future. It sort of spoils the fun we've had with the crossover thus far. Let's hope the final 3 chapters make up for it.

If you read JLU: Futures End, you'll likely pick this up. If you're reading the Futures End weekly, you'll likely pick this up. If you are just reading the Justice League monthly like myself, I can't recommend this as a standalone issue, since it isn't. Is it good? Sure. Is it great? Nah. Perhaps I'm not the most qualified to bestow final judgment. But for the sake of formality, I give it a thumbs up and three Daily Planet globes:

By no means a weak book, Red Lanterns #35 is a great read, but fails to feel like much of a part of the Godhead crossover. Perhaps next week's issue of Sinestro shall satisfy my thirst for more New Gods vs. Lanterns action.

Red Lanterns #36 is a super solid, fun and well executed comic. The minor complaints shouldn't deter any fans following the unfolding epic from picking up this issue to add to the stack. Enjoy, and we'll see you next week for Act 2's finale.

For the Wonder Woman fans, Secret Origins #6 gives you an essential bit of the magnum opus that ends next week in Wonder Woman #35. You also get some art and story for two other great characters. Not a bad read at all.

Readers following Godhead will likely be satisfied with this addition, though as an act closer, it doesn't quite pack the full punch I'd hoped. Still, it's a fine issue in it's own right and inches us little by little through this cosmic crossover. I'm willing to bet these few issues will win over some new long-term readers for the title.

I may very well be reading every book featuring Supes in the near future. So hopefully this marks the end of this unevenness in his line of books that has plagued it a bit from the start of the New 52.

The sheer volume of quality content should verily satisfy one's hunger for more Multiversal madness. To say I'm eagerly anticipating the final three issues to come (Mastermen, Ultra Comics and Multiversity #2) would be an understatement.

Wonder Woman #35 is a fantastic conclusion to a run that will likely go down as one of, if not THE best the character has ever had. While short, it is still sweet, hitting all the right beats and giving fans the perfect cap to this mammoth tale. The Finches have a hell of a task ahead, having to follow this up. Best of luck to them.
