Mercury Heat #1 |
Jul 21, 2015 |
By making some pedestrians uncomfortable, and unnerved from her being a bad ass, shes out here on Mercury handling a form of undercover/bounty hunter/catch-the-law-breakers police work. Its pretty cool to see her rock some cybernetic performance enhancement armor to help slam up suspects with strength/agility augmentation. Ultimately, though, Mercury Heat has potential as a sci-fi comic, but needs better structuring as the story unfolds. Im hoping it finds salvation rather than becoming forgotten space junk in the vast void of the ever-growing comic book world. Its saving grace so far is the vibrant art by Omar Francia (Legends Of The Dark Knight,Arrow) and amazing color work of Digikore Studios. Im rooting for a The Shield (TV series)/Robocop (Movie) intensity in space. Heres hopingstay tuned. |

Baltimore: The Cult Of The Red King #1 |
May 13, 2015 |
Fans of Guillermo del Toro's direction will be blessed with all of those classic Hellboy elements; a comic that reminds me of a mesh between the video game Wolfenstein, with accents of Captain America villains Red Skull and Hydra, to which they both pay homage to the occult/vampire themes of yesteryear. |

Suiciders #1 |

With no direction I can pick up on " nor much of a plot " the main issue that frustrates me is that reading the comic feels like you're being dropped right in the middle movie all the while attempting to guess "WTF" is going on. I can literally put this comic book together like a recipe built on the concepts taken from 2 movies: 1.) The Purge, 2.) Gladiator. |

Evil Ernie (2014) #1 |
Oct 13, 2014 |
I mean, if youre not familiar with the story of Ernest Fairchild inEvil Ernie #1, then.. its going to become clear you need to have read the origin of the character. Moving on, Twisted Sister frontman sonJesse Blaze Sniders action was decent for the issue. Death, as beheadings, blood in this ish are totally present and done tasteful. Entertaining, was the fact that there was female hacker talking to the totally carbon copied style Hell Cube from (Hellraisermovie) and what happens from there, well, lets just say I kept laughing. Towards the end you see an attractively illustrated Fem Demon drawn byJason Craig talking to her minions, with the looks as if the gang will eventually get back together. Ernie, looks like you have family planning a visit. Just make sure they are welcomed home properly. |

The Devilers #1 |
Jul 22, 2014 |
The best part: Fialkov chooses a most interesting angle for this Hell Up in Vatican story. Despite the whole "wer'e doomed" mindset, there still lies a relaxed feel as to how it all unfolds. Instead of the usual single-player narration, readers will witness all the horror from their so-to-speak living rooms, as the initial " and quite dynamic " conversations are further broadcast into supernatural madness. |

Original Sin: Hulk vs. Iron Man #1 |

Certainly, this is no Planet Hulk, and the first few pages of that EVENT alone display more depth than this entire comic. Gamma Ray Bruce Banner Rage at how Jackie Collins dapple this issue was. |

I simply lost interest. Here's to hoping the script picks up a little too, because I'm all for catching Lara in any action we can get. Pretty hollow. |
