Archie Vs. Predator is an Archie book first and Predator book second. The majority of this first issue deals with generic Archie escapades with only the slightest touch of Predator. Hopefully this is just to set the tone and future issues will dive head first into carnage.

Marking a significant improvement over issue #1 Archie vs. Predator #2 is all fun all the time. Im giddy just imagining wholl be decapitated next issue, its a good sign that this book has its claws in me.

The Predator is featured here more than issue #1 but not quite as much as last month's 2nd issue. He hangs back and stealthy spies on his victims for a bit, which would raise the tension if it wasnt for how cartoony it comes off. A Predator peering through the grate on an air vent overlooking Archie and the gang all the while dripping green goo looks just a hokey as it sounds. Additionally both of the Predators kills this issue are the same. The situations are different but he uses the exact same technique which is lame.

Launching off from there the rest of the comic is absolutely stellar. The final confrontation proves to be bigger and bloodier than anything thats come before. It delivers an unconventional ending that thoroughly satisfies. Capping off a mini series no one ever saw coming in a way no one will see coming.

Bill & Teds Most Triumphant Return is still a bit clunky but its now pointed in a much more promising direction.

Boy 1 is dull, boring and above all trite. You've seen everything done here done better a dozen times before. It's the perfect example of mysteries and hooks done wrong, instead of enticing the reader they're just left confused and frustrated.

With only one issue left Dark Ages is on track to be THE comic miniseries to read this year. This penultimate issue has gone above and beyond, impressing me more than I thought possible. Beginning with a thunderous boom and only becoming better with each passing issue I cannot fathom what the finale has in store for us. Be prepared to be launched off your feet and into the stratosphere next month.

Enormous launches its second season with a grounded, simpler tone. No massive set pieces of monsters chasing our heroes through buildings tearing everything down in their path. Instead were treated to a more personal human conflict, demonstrating that even with grotesque monstrosities ripping everyone to shreds well still be killing each other. Issue #7 has started a captivating new arc for Enormous, giving us a tantalizing tease of whats to come.

Thats just a taste of the first few pages, later Godzilla faces off against something thatll remind people of that storm from Mad Max Road Fury, only with bodies instead of sand. Honestly its all fucking fantastic. Its like reading an amazing fanfiction you created in your head while playing with action figures when you were 8, if you were raised on equal parts catholicism and Godzilla films.

While it is super rad to see Deputy Garcia on the page again its ultimately a disappointment. I could definitely see Blood Lagoon improving in part 2 but as it currently stands I cannot recommend it. Id still recommend Grindhouse itself, outside of this one issue its all been fabulous. Even if Blood Lagoon turns out to be a dud itll be followed with an entirely new 2-part story that Ill be wholeheartedly looking forward to, whatever it may be.

Blood Lagoon Part 2 is a Grindhouse book through and through. All of part 1s borderline tedious build up pays off in spades, resulting in one of the most uplifting and fun Grindhouse tale to date. Seeing Deputy Garcia on the page again is an absolute treat, that offers a tantalizing taste of grindhouse sequels. Let's hope De Campi has even more up her sleeve as the series continues.

Lady Danger Agent of B.O.O.T.I. is fun in a serious way. It tackles modern issues that we are seeing more and more of but with light-hearted airs. Raising awareness and displaying real humanity in a way news broadcasters have been failing at spectacularly. A truly important book reflective of the world around us.

Invisible Republic #4 is the weakest issue yet but far from a failure. Characters and plot threads dont advance much this issue and advances that do happen couldve been done in significantly less pages. That being said the high quality visuals and dialogue, especially for Babb, elevate Invisible Republic above the norm.

John Flood #1 opens strong then drags its heels for a bit until it ends even stronger than it began. That makes for an uneven read to be sure but not a bad one. The art is top notch and every page looks amazing, especially when we see the world through John's eyes. Theres enough compelling ideas here to blossom into something special.

Packing a hefty amount of style and substance, King Tiger #1 is an exceptional reintroduction of a 90's Dark Horse character.

Lantern City is an easy recommendation for steampunk fans, but a bit harder sell for everyone else.

Longtime fans of X-Files and Millennium will thoroughly enjoy Millennium #1 with its call backs and nuances while theres just enough exposition to keep those relatively new to the series from feeling left out. Obviously if you know nothing of The X-Files this comic is not for you and will leave you puzzled beyond belief, but if youve got even basic knowledge of it youll feel right at home.

Although this issue is primarily about Bendis and his interactions with the citizens of buckaroo this is not a one off like last month. The overarching Nailbiter plot continues to push forwar

"Nailbiter" is the pinnacle of horror in comics right now, it's also a tense thriller, an emotional drama and it's got a wicked sense of humor. The complete package any way you look at it, even under a tree this holiday season.

The issue does pick up a bit after this and the ending is totally rad, but not good enough to save the issue. It's a rare misstep from Williamson but one I'm sure he'll bounce back from going forward. Nailbiter fans will still find some nuggets of fun here but this is will definitely be remembered as a black sheep.

Nailbiter is consistently amazing and this month proves no exception.

“Roche Limit” is an astounding introduction to a rich and intricate world. Its not perfect, but its got heart. The only real stumble is with the characterization of Sonya, who as of this first issue I couldnt care less about. Especially when compared to Alex Ford she might as well have been a cardboard cutout. I can only hope shes fleshed out in the coming issues. Roche Limit has got all of its building blocks spread out on the table now, I have nothing but the utmost confidence that Michael Moreci will build greatness.

Michael Moreci and Vic Malhotra have out done themselves yet again. This is a series that demands and deserves to be read by any and all Sci-Fi, comic and storytelling fans. Truly and genuinely, Roche Limit #5 is a phenomenal work of art.

It's a framing device you've probably seen before but where Clandestiny shines are in its many nuances and mysteries. Sasha is already incredibly complex, with so many unknowns floating around her it's hard to even get a bead on her true motivations. She's an exciting enigma and a worthy successor to Ford. (star of the last series) Clandestiny stands tall, meeting the high bar set by Roche Limit and possibly even raising it a few more notches. Do not miss this dynamite comic on May 6th.

Space Riders is a special beast, nothing else compares to its brand of fun. It's a visually impressive acid trip into a live wire space universe populated by incredibly developed characters. It's something that has been missing from comics. It's the 80's Saturday morning cartoon but pumped full of hallucinogenic awesomeness. It's pure gospel with 25 of the best pages you'll read in your life. Really, the greatest tragedy of all is that now its half over, but that last half of the ice cream bucket is always the best anyway.

Space Riders #3 is all about epic set ups in anticipation of glorious payoffs next issue. As always the writing and art are on point making every moment memorable. Ill be deeply saddened by Space Riders conclusion next month but until then the wait will be agonizing.

People may have ragged on Latour for his run on Wolverine and The X-Men but if you gave any of them Spider-Gwen #1 theyd think twice about his writing abilities. He totally nails here creating a character who we can identify as being apart of the spider family but one whos absolutely unique and endearing in her own ways. Spread is an exemplary horror comic and by far the number one body horror comic currently on the stands. Every page is a joy to behold for both the sublime art and the superb story. The trade collecting all 6 issues of the first arc is due out next month, I highly recommend any and all horror fans to buy it and spread it around.

Teen Titans Earth One Vol 1 is a damn fine read that anyone can jump right into and have a blast. Long time fans will also find a lot to enjoy here too, seeing how classic characters have been fundamentally changed up while still retaining the essence of their character. It also ends on a huge cliffhanger that has me desperately clamoring for more. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Ghost Fleet presents itself a lot like an 80's action movie but reading it with that mindset would only be scratching it's surface. Beneath the shine of an 80"s action flick is a heavy conspiracy, engaging characters, hilarious dialogue and that will have you clamouring for more.

"Ghost Fleet" is back for round two and its a knockout. Issue #1 intrigued me, a comic about big trucks goin fast and smashing shit on the surface but with the glimmers of something deeper. That something deeper is what issue #2 opens with and now its got me hook line and sinker. The mysteries are boundless and my questions are counting up to immeasurable levels. However, thisnever feels cheap or lazy, its a deep seeded mystery that becomes exponentially more exciting with every teenie-tiny tidbit and kernel of information.

This months issue tells a more centralized and contained story of Trace stealing from the Ghost Fleet. More specifically the precious cargo that The Silhouette (secret society) has tasked Roland Cohle with transporting whom in turn tasked Ghos

Donny Cates and Daniel Warren Johnson have truly hit their stride now, this is the best Ghost Fleet issue yet and I'm craving that next issue more than my many chemical dependencies.

Ghost Fleet continues to be of the utmost quality, its a crime that it doesnt have a bigger fan base. Ive said it before and Ill say it again, dont judge this book before youve read it. Its not a hoorah for beerguts, its an excellent action-thriller-mystery that a lot of comic fans would enjoy if they read it.

Grandiose perfectly encapsulated the feel of Ghost Fleet #7; grand in an impressive way. I could see people calling it mindless, but its not, all of these revelations have been set up. Look back to the first couple issues and youll find all kinds of hints and tips of what was coming. Id say that Id be sad to see this series go but its hard to be sad when youre having this much fun. This penultimate chapter has all the dials kicked up to 11 so I cannot even begin to fathom what the finale will be like, aside from radical.

The Shrinking Man #1 has potential but its not realized in this initial issue. Instead were given brief glimpses of a promising future. It may all come together and be great yet but as it currently stands its a hard recommendation.

Curt Pires has started his first ongoing with a bang, theres a literal mic drop at the end of the issue that feels well-earned. If youre looking for a light hearted good time, look elsewhere, but If youre looking for an alternative comic thatll engage and challenge you then Tomorrows is for you.

This small annoyance aside the book does pick up tremendously from here to the end of the issue. It becomes a real page turner as events develop and conflicts arise. Going in I didnt think this book would be anything to write home about but in fact its the opposite. You could almost recommend this book to anyone and theyd have a good time, increasingly more so for those already familiar with the world. If only it had a brief intro to bring new comers up to speed on the bare essentials, then thered be no reason not to recommend it.

While the Vulpess tricks are beginning to wear thin every other aspect of the story is strong enough that its easily overlookable. Tobin has the world and characters down pat now, this is an authentical witcher story through and through. If youve been enjoying The Witcher 3 Id highly recommend this series.
