This was far from what I'd have expected to see going into this issue but it was a more than pleasant surprise. 'Spencer & Locke' continues to impress with new revelations and the upping of action, violence, and psychological drama. To say there isn't anything like this in comics right now would be an understatement. Pepose, Santiago, and Smith have delivered a multi-layered tour de force of a thriller. Unless I am mistaken, the conclusion comes next issue, so theres still time to hopaboard if crime fiction is your thing. But I hope its not the last we see ofSpencer & Locke. With only one issue left Spencer and Locke have a lot to overcome. Can Spencer find his friend Locke, will Locke even recognize Spencer with the drugs running through his veins, can they solve Sophie's murder in time and save her child and why was she mixed up with this criminal organization in the first place? Spencer and Locke continues to be a great crime/mystery/thriller of a story, it is something that you are not going to want to miss out on! Read Full Review

I totally can see how the two main influences have been slammed together to make a whole and sure, at time mix and matching can work; a cheese and onion sandwich for example or coca cola in southern comfort. However,at least in these examples you can switch to plain cheese or lemonade in your drink. In Spence and Locke you don't have that choice; you are stuck with what you got. Of course, you could always go back to Calvin and Hobbes. Read Full Review
