As for the art, Steve Epting is always a great fit for stories that start in a very grounded place. Also, Brian Reber's colors fit perfectly with his work. We're dealing with real people who experience a bizarre event, so it's no surprise the artist who drew TKO Studios' Sara and Captain America: The Winter Soldier felt like a great fit for the start of Straczynski's story. Telepaths #1 is an interesting start to the series. There's some aspects that are absolutely great. There's some aspects that are thrown in there and feel like they don't go anywhere. It's clear they will eventually but we have one issue to review right now. There's a making of a great series within and hopefully with the second issue we get to see the impact of this event with those lingering plotlines.
