Feeling alone and betrayed by Bianca and Gabriel, Poe finds a humbled and apologetic Z, who tells him that all the Mice have been taken by the Scarf Man.
It seems like every character is having to push themselves beyond their limit. Corona makes each one of his characters choose the right path on his/her own. From Bianca to Poe's father, they all have to choose. I can't wait to see what each one does and if it all works out for them. This issue was light on answers but heavy on emotion. Poe leaves the city and goes home to his father to tell him he was right about how people would treat him. But their reconciliation is short lived as the old man continues to keep secrets. After running off and taking to the streets in full view of everyone, he finds out that the mice have all been taken. Bianca, meanwhile, finds her way back to the Maze with help from an unexpected source – her father. With Bianca on her way to save Poe and Poe about to surrender himself in exchange for the lives of the mice, we're gearing up for a pretty epic finale. And I can't wait! Read Full Review
Penultimate issues have a tendency to spend much of the time setting up the story for a grand finale. When read in the monthly format, this choice can sometimes cause the chapter to feel a bit underwhelming. With Feathers #5, Corona and Hickman manage to infuse the book with enough new information along with their excellent storytelling to ensure that the final product is still worthwhile.
