A fun story is undone by sketchy visuals and overly dark colors. I can only shake my head and wonder what happened with this issue. This series — this team — has done strong work in the past. What happened here? This is the penultimate issue, so my hopes are high that next issue will end with strong visuals. Read Full Review

With the conclusion of Angel Season 11 #11, I did find myself just a bit disappointed that there are still so many questions and very few answers to engage you in this story. It feels like we've been going through an adventure without any real direction. I want to know exactly what is at stake by confronting this threat, what exactly IT is, and what started all of this in the first place. I hope that the final issue will address that and much more if we are to be satisfied with what we have gotten out of this twelve-issue season. Read Full Review

Even though I have small exposure to this franchise. I can certainly see why fans of this world can get into it and why they may find themselves enjoying this world continued in comic book form. Read Full Review

I have been pretty harsh in my reviews of this season of ANGEL (and I stand by them). However, issue #10 and, especially, issue #11 of ANGEL SEASON 11 have been such a pleasant surprise. Everything from art to writing to story have improved. Even the characterization, which has felt way off, was a little more on point this month. The one exception, and it DOES relate to characterization, is that if Angel and Illyria DID have sex, it is quite rapey on Angel's part. I'm all for an Angel/Illyria romance. I mean, why the hell not? But to have sex without Fred's consent is wrong. Despite that, this was still the best issue of ANGEL in Season 11.
