The Dreaming #18

By: Simon Spurrier, Marguerite Sauvage
Released: Feb 5, 2020

Rose Walker was a vortex, once. And as a vortex, she draws dreams to herself...and she is drawn to them. And it's a good thing, too, because Dora, Matthew, and Abel are in well over their heads in the waking world-a world that is slowly destroying itself, as Wan's plans for the collective unconscious of humanity have come to pass!

This story was properly horror. A lot of suspense, good characters and scenes like the monster hiding behind the closet were great!

Prelude:
Batman and the Outsiders has been passable so far but can this issue improve upon that?

The Good:
Found Sofia interesting in this issue.

Liked Soy's art like always.

Bruce was cool using both sides of the coin here.

I'm interested to see where this goes.

The Bad:
Nothing.

Conclusion:
A great issue for me more

I honestly think this issue worked a lot better than last few. The dialogue didn't feel quite so stilted this time around. Maybe Fallen Angels got the writer into a real zen mode where he couldn't knock the habit of preposterous and pretentious dialogue, but now that that's over, he's reeled it back a little.

Wow, I was super impressed. I decided last minute to add this issue to my pull list, and did not regret it one bit. One of the best first issues I've read recently.

Every one of the main characters is likable, and the villain is easy to hate. With just one issue you get to know a lot about the main characters and how they develop a deep connection quickly. The pacing is fantastic and h more

Great. The visuals are all there, even if the fight is a little dumb and over the top-ish. I like this run so far, but I'm still not as hooked as most people seem to be. The fight seemed a little dragged out and served no real purpose, as the ending shows another fight between two allies for the next issue. I get that modern comics are meant to be decompressed and filling these issues with fig more

Yet another example of D-Cates killing it. The only reason it doesn't get a 10 from me is the fear in the back of my head that they [SPOILERS] only broke Stormbreaker so that they could make a new one that looks more like the one from the movies. I hate when they change comic stuff because of movies.Like what they did with the Guardians of the Galaxy and when they gave Spider-Man organic webs, or more
