Historians believe aliens created the pyramids because they are racist towards Egyptians, cops' biggest fear are black people, immensely ignorant white principals with zero manners. All preached to us by a hipster white dude who probably hasn't ever been discriminated against in his life. What a shitshow. It's a shame there are so many stupid lines like that, because I was into this book on the prmore
The crazy old lady known only as La Curandera tells a tale that begins 500 years ago in the Aztec Empire at the peak of its strength and ends in her dirty little Arizona gift shop with four kids and a wayward Chupacabra, all of whom are meant to save the world from an ancient evil. Alas, it's a school night. But our heroes defy their destinies at t...

A NEW ERA DAWNS FOR EARTH'S MIGHTIEST HEROES -
courtesy of JASON AARON and ED McGUINNESS!
Thor Odinson. Steve Rogers. Tony Stark. The Big Three of the Avengers are reunited at last! And just in time to save the world from total annihilation at the hands of their most powerful enemies yet: the 2000-foot-tall space gods known as Celestials.
Despite staccato plot progression and underwhelming art (just not a fan of Scott Kolins, sorry), this is a pretty solid issue.
Would’ve given this a 6 if not for the awesome cover art by Dan Panosian.
Things are about to get hot-very hot!-when Flash has to battle fire monsters generated by his longtime nemesis, Heat Wave. Unfortunately, the pilot light blew out in Mick Rory's head, because he's comatose from the effects of the Sage Force! How can the Scarlet Speedster reach his old frenemy and get him to put out the fire monsters? Looks like Com...

THE ROAD TO "DROWNED EARTH"! Superman and Batman can't agree on how to put back the moon-you know, the one that went missing in issue #1. On the other hand, Wonder Woman and Aquaman have faith in each other, working together on a new addition to the Hall of Justice. Martian Manhunter takes Hawkgirl under his wing to test out the limits of her recen...
"Knight Terrors" begins here! The big issue #50 kicks off an epic four-part story that brings together critical moments of fear and doubt from the past and the present. A young Dick Grayson hopes to escape the shadow of the Bat and earn the title of Nightwing, while an older Dick Grayson must deal with a blow he did not see coming. A common enemy u...

Quite a welcome jump in tone, from overly optimistic and hopeful to dark and moody. I read an interview from Mairghread saying she wanted to capture the darker likes of Gail Simons's Batgirl and I believe she has succeeded tremendously with both this and to a only barely lesser extent #26.
Sibling rivalry takes on a whole new meaning in this one-shot story that tracks Batgirl's hunt for a serial killer whose M.O. strikes a familiar chord. Namely, a disturbing similarity to her brother, current convict James Gordon Jr. Family bonds are restored during a visit to his maximum- security surroundings, but Babs' doubts linger. Is James Jr....
Coming into this unfamiliar with the creative team, I was very pleasantly surprised.
Really digging the reversion to a darker tone, and looking forward to seeing where Mairghread Scott is going with Babs.

Pure comic book brilliance.
This sort of work is the reason people fall in love with the medium.
If I start gushing about Gary Frank’s art, I’ll probably never stop. Suffice it to say that the artwork is as phenomenal as it’s been throughout the whole series so far.
The wait for the next issue is going to be excruciating.
The critically acclaimed team of writer Geoff Johns and artist Gary Frank continue the groundbreaking miniseries bringing the world of WATCHMEN to DC. In this chapter, the truth behind Dr. Manhattan's curiosity with the DC Universe is revealed as the planet teeters on the edge of the Super-War.
There we go, now this one will definitely won't leave anyone saying how this series isn't what they expected it to be. This is definitely the best issue so far. Will the next ones be as good? I'd easily bet on that. That bi-monthly schedule is killing me, I'd happily pay a significant amount of money to know what happens next.

Bizarre, thought-provoking, and downright creepy at times!
I’m very keen to learn more about the titular character, with these first four issues only supplying a very gentle drip feed.
I think the art complements/augments the perverse scope of the stories being told, even though I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan of it.
Overall, I recommend this to anyone with a more
Chocolate, vanilla, existential horror, addiction, musical fantasy...there's a flavor for everyone's misery. ICE CREAM MAN is a genre-defying comic book series, featuring disparate "one-shot" tales of sorrow, wonder, and redemption. Each installment features its own cast of strange characters, dealing with their own special sundae of suffering. And...
Having an absolute blast reading this series.
Tynion’s intriguing plot is enhanced by the excellent art - combining to create a creepy, atmospheric thrill ride.
Anyone remotely intrigued should do themselves a favour and give this a try!
Wonder Woman! Swamp Thing! Zatanna! Man-Bat! Um...Detective Chimp! The JL Dark team may not be strong or deep enough to stop the omnipotent Upside-Down Man from taking over our entire plane of existence. UDM takes the JLD apart one by one, but Wonder Woman might have enough mojo to keep everyone alive. Turns out Diana had a power not even she knew ...
Jason Todd's about to take this vigilante game to a whole new level. His partners, Bizarro and Artemis? Gone! His mentor, Batman? Out! His base of operations, Gotham City? Abandoned. Cast out and alone, Red Hood embarks on a bold, brutal new mission, with a new costume, new weapons and a new plan to punish evildoers across the DCU. Plus, Pete Woods...
I don’t give many books a 10, but this issue just hit all the right notes for me. I can understand why Kudranski’s art is divisive, but I absolutely love it, and it’s ably supported by the inks and colours.
I didn’t want this issue to end and I’m now counting down the days until I can get my hands on issue #3. Really hope Rosenberg/Kudranski get a lengthy run.
YOU CAN TAKE THE PUNISHER OUT OF THE WAR MACHINE...

Some issues with flow and pacing, possibly due to the need to set up the arc. However, this is an excellent book that’s more than convinced me to add the series to my pull.

TIES THAT BIND!
Years ago, Spider-Man came back from an alien world with a fantastic new costume - one he eventually learned was a living alien symbiote looking to bond with him permanently! But before he rejected the costume that went on to become VENOM, many a night the symbiote would creep onto Peter, and unbeknownst to its host, ...
Really enjoying the whackiness of this run.
Great fun that I look forward to every month.

Hey more depressed out of character heroes written by King. Wow, who would have guessed. THis book was advertised as dealing with mental health but all we got was death. King doesn’t seem to know how to tell a story without senseless death and depression. The art was great but the rest was just meh. Which I guess is a step up from the writers normal trash.
There's a new kind of crisis threatening the heroes of the DC Universe, ripped from real-world headlines by C.I.A.-operative-turned-comics-writer Tom King: How does a superhero handle PTSD?
