King Conan The Conqueror #5 returns the series to its earlier glory similar to Conan returning to Aquilonia declaring he was still alive. The masterful writing with the splendid artwork made this issue such a joy to read, and succeeded in everything a penultimate issue should strive to achieve. I felt Conan's return and now I can't wait for the head to head battle and conclusion next issue. Read Full Review

It's the most political and least hack and slash Issue so far, with a fair amount of debauchery and cynicism, and it is clearly intended to set the scene for the finale, ending as it does not on a cliffhanger like all the rest of the series, but on a triumphal shot of Conan, dressed for battle, sword held high, gem of power clutched in his other hand, astride a rearing horse. It fairly cries, Behold the King, come to reclaim what is his. Sure, the ending may be foreordained" after all, not only is this a flashback, but this is Conan, a heroic scoundrel who never losses, but it's still glorious. I'm psyched. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - James Anders II Jun 26, 2014

It has been not the smoothest ride for Truman, Giorello, and company in making this series, but I am happy to say that they are starting to pull things together now that we have reached the conclusion. The interest is piqued and I am sincerely hoping that they can unleash the fury that is worthy of the title in the wrap up. . Read Full Review
