Mal, Jayne, and River have infiltrated an Alliance
facility that is home to more victims just
like River-except, unlike her, they were never
rescued. Now that Mal and the crew are in,
the problem has become getting out-because
Zoe still needs to be rescued and the
Alliance is out for blood!
Still striking a deft balance between fan-service and actually getting an excellent new story told, this series continues to be an absolute treat for Browncoats everywhere. Throw your money at it, soon as it comes out. One score this month: Read Full Review
There's so much that needs to be wrapped up next month in 'Serenity: Leaves on the Wind'. It'll be sad to say goodbye to the crew of Serenity once again, but here's hoping that we go out on a high note. Read Full Review
And by the way, curse you Zack Whedon for pulling on my heart strings like that with the Wash flashback in 'Out of Gas.' I mean that in a good way, but still"curse you. Read Full Review
Serenity: Leaves on the Wind #5 is hitting all the right notes bringing this story to life as a representation of the Serenity crew's lives after the events of outing the Alliance. Next issue is the end of this mini series and I want to have faith that Zack Whedon and bring everything to a close or end things in a way in which leaves room for the story to expand in another book. The only fear at this point is that not everything can be covered by the end of issue 6. Read Full Review
I'm kind of sad that this arc is ending so soon. But since we didn't see any of Zoe in this issue, I'm crossing my fingers that Zack Whedon ends with an epic rescue. Read Full Review
With only one issue remaining, and Zoe still locked in an Alliance prison somewhere, the Alliance has finally made Mal Reynolds angry enough to join the fight as both he and Bea discover just how many of the Browncoats the Alliance has killed. Worth a look. Read Full Review

As I said overall this is a very good issue of Serenity: Leaves on the Wind. It sheds the heavy reliance on continuity of previous issues while also focusing the story and making the lead character more likable and engaging. The artwork is solid or at the very least better despite the issues with drawing faces still remaining (no one has a normal nose.) Most of all it's the first issue of Serenity: Leaves on the Wind sense issue 1 I can say I fully enjoyed reading all the way through and that deserves a recommendation. Read Full Review

Issue #5 was probably the most action-packed in the series and it only looks like things are gonna get crazier next month! Read Full Review
