As the First Order grows in power, Supreme Leader Snoke dispatches Kylo Ren and General Hux to the planet Karaxis to enforce his will upon the populace. As Ren hunts a fugitive through the wilds, Hux works find a new, cruelly inventive way of enforcing compliance. But how far can the Karaxians be pushed, before they have nothing left to lose?
If you weren't a fan of Kylo Ren (for some reason), this book won't change your mind, but the narrative makes for an entertaining glimpse into the character's villainy. Read Full Review
Overall, this was a fun story set in the sequel trilogy. The characters were well written and the art served the story well. However, with Hyperspace Stories being an anthology series, it is hard to get really excited for a story knowing that it will not continue and that did dampen my enjoyment of the issue. This is, however, a good time for fans of Star Wars and for any fan wanting to learn more about Kylo Ren and the First Order. Read Full Review
The comic plays on preexisting conflict. Fans of the Ren/Hux dynamic will likely enjoy it, even if it doesn't offer much of interest in the otherwise unnotable new planet to the Star Wars galaxy or a mission that gets resolved, despite its challenges, in a single issue. Read Full Review
It's a good issue in that it works more character time and dialogue than some previous ones and the artwork is definitely age-appropriate while leaning slightly into the playful side, so it achieves its goals. But it still leaves me a bit frustrated overall that these characters with so much potential are still struggling to find a path that works. Read Full Review
