As Giltine returns home, Geralt observes the bizarre behavior of each of those involved. Plagued with unanswered questions, he makes a shocking discovery and must come to terms with his role in it.
These are dark themes dealt with skillfully by the full creative team. The foreshadowing in the first few pages, with the fox, sets most readers stomachs on edge and it just gets more gruesome from there. In this issue, traditional artwork is highlighted by a muted color palette. Del Rey and Bellaire do an amazing job striking the perfect tone for each scene. The eye-catching illustrations perfectly capture the mood changes during the story's progression. This attention to detail drew me further into the story and kept me completely engaged.
