Max is a family man seeking a more interesting life. While conducting a new experiment at work, the fabric of his reality is torn before his eyes, and a robotic figure appears, claiming to be his 277-year-old self. The robot is able to "X-Ray" multiple dimensions and battles a nihilistic entity from another dimension who wants to take all life to its "Pre-Big Bang" status.  Max and the robot embark on an interdimensional roadtrip through past and future to take down the "Nihilist" and save the universe!

Graphic Policy - Logan Dalton Mar 20, 2020

X-Ray Robot #1 may end up being another scientist and robot team up to save the world from a threat beyond our knowledge, but for now, Mike Allred and Laura Allred subvert these well-trodden tropes and give readers a unique experience of traveling to another dimension and bonding with another consciousness. The way they shift their art style when Dr. Wilding goes to another dimension and the cutting together of tranquil domesticity with violent unreality makes X-Ray Robot #1 a fantastic reading experience and worth pouring over for the Allreds' dynamic storytelling alone. It's a very good first issue (with one notable problem) full of mystery and suspense, all delivered with Allred's trademark brilliance on the art. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Alex Curtis Mar 17, 2020

As much as it hurts to say, Mike Allred delivered a dud with this corny throwback. I enjoy a good retro spoof as much as the next guy, but X-Ray Robot #1 isn't innovative or entertaining enough to elevate the silliness. Read Full Review

A Far out story from the far out minds of Mike & Laura Allred. for X-Ray Robot is the most recent output from Mike & Laura Allred. Anyone familiar with The Allreds' Work will be familiar with Their approach, and that approach is amplified here in X-Ray Robot. We are introduced to a cool world that blends of sci-fi and psychedelia. the story is a heady one, involving alternate realities and mind bending scientific riffs. The story follows scientists as they begin to prepare for an experiment where they will send an individual into another dimension. after the initial experiment, he begins to have visions. visions of the apocalypse and death, and apparently while in another dimension, he gained an ability to see more than us. He can see what more
