Batman & Robin #17 is a smart and refreshing change of pace from what we've enjoyed from the title thus far. If you were thinking of skipping this arc and waiting for Pete Tomasi and Patrick Gleason to take over, you may want to rethink that stance. Cornell started us on a new Batman and Robin adventure, with a new villain and a new tone for the book. This issue suffered (in my opinion) on the art side, to the point where I have a hard time saying you should pick this up. Skim through the art yourself, then make your choice. I'm going to follow this title for a bit. If Cornell can keep my fascination with Dick and Damian going, I will stay on as a reader. Read Full Review

"Batman and Robin" #17 is a book that doesn't quite match up to the strengths of its creative personnel. There's a lot of promise here, and it's understandably a fill-in on short notice, but in a month of some top-notch Bat-books, it doesn't quite hit the target. The first page's repeated chant of, "What are we missing?" was eerily prophetic. Here's hoping those missing pieces are found next month. Read Full Review
