    I was really on the fence about assigning this book this strong of a verdict given some of the flaws in the art and some issues with the development of the plot, but the strength of Gail Simone's Huntress and the fun action sequences won out.     The only detriment to this issue is the artwork, which is not bad in and of itself. The problem is that the discrepancies between the Lee and Melo pages is a jarring one at times and becomes a nuisance. Both do an admirable job in their own right, though I prefer Adriana Melo. Otherwise, Birds of Prey is just a damn good book filled with action packed fun. Read Full Review

    This is an all-too-brief sampling of the series for me, but I did enjoy how the Birds are defined not simply by having an all-girl's line-up or by having bird-themed members, but by the unusual locations and situations they find themselves in. A new arc's staring next issue, so I'm looking forward to get firmer footing to follow these femme fatales and give them a more accurate assessment.     I enjoyed the first four issues of "Birds of Prey," so this two-parter has ultimately been a disappointment. I'm not going to write off the book " this feels like it's the exception to the rule " but I am glad it's over, and starting next month Ardian Syaf comes on board to help the title move forward. This is a comic that we ultimately expect a lot more from. Read Full Review
