Trapped on a backward planet of backward doppelgängers doing backward versions of everything they would normally do, the extremely frontward Jimmy Olsen and Perry White find themselves wondering: Will we ever get home again? At least their host—a backward version of Superman—seems to be accommodating of their stay. But if everything is backward on this planet, then what’s the opposite of accommodating? Uh-oh.

Bizarro Year One #2 begins to unfold this twisted mystery and reveals that, despite wearing the “S,” this Superman may not be the hero of this story. I love seeing Perry and Jimmy team up, and the art makes me feel so uncomfortable, as it should in this universe. Read Full Review

There are some genuinely funny scenes in this issue, but there’s also always a deeply unsettling tone under the surface as Perry tries to investigate the world around them when Bizarro’s not watching. Bizarro: Year None #2 builds on the promise of its debut by sharpening the mystery and embracing the bizarre charm of its setting. Eric Carrasco and Kevin Smith find a stronger narrative focus through Jimmy and Perry's investigation, while Nick Pitarra's artwork turns every page into a treasure hunt of weird and wonderful details. The unanswered questions surrounding Bizarro's condition create genuine intrigue, even if a few moments feel overly confusing. By the final page, the danger has escalated considerably, leaving readers eager to discover just how unstable this strange world has become. Read Full Review
