This is definitely the darkest issue of the series so far, and feels like a clean break in terms of a new status quo from here on out. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - Theron Couch Feb 15, 2024

Blue Beetle #6 is largely an action spectacle. Its a fun read, though at this point in the story arc it isnt non stop excitement. Part of that is both the result of a few confused moments in the visual presentation, as well as the recent slower pace in the ongoing story arc. Fortunately the sudden conflict between Jaime and Khaji-Da does add new stakes and essentially refreshes the storyline. Read Full Review

    Fantastic arc.
High stakes both physical and emotional.
Plenty of action mixed in with great character moments.
Built up to this climax and a cliffhanger?!

Blue Beetle is is a fantastic BOOK.

Now this is how you close out an arc! The creative team takes us on a rip-roaring, action-packed adventure to put a cap on the wonderfully entertaining series’ debut story. Even though it bears his superhero identity, this series has been as much of an ensemble story as it has been one about Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle. That’s no different here with a handful of characters getting a chance to shine in the climactic finale.

However, it’s the final few moments when Jaime realizes what Khaji is planning to do to stop the Blood Scarab where the emotional crescendo of the entire first six issues takes place. It’s a true turning point in the relationship between Jaime and Khaji that I’m excited to see explored in future arcs. more

This was a nice ending to this arc, although I'm not sure how I feel about Jaime suddenly being teleported away at the end of this. On one hand, I think it's a nice way to allow the series to go into a new story without immediately having to do a lot of follow-up on this arc, but on the other hand, I also feel as though this issue would have been better had it ended on Jaime sitting there digesting what just happened. Either way, I liked this and I'm looking forward to what comes next.
