We The Nerdy - Kierra Prince May 1, 2015

This is one of the best issues you'll pick up during this year's Free Comic Book Day event and issues are sure to go quickly considering the content that DC has chosen to give us. I couldn't be more excited about the future of DC as it looks to be dark, violent, and even more soul-crushing than it already has been. Read Full Review

    Comic Vine - Tony 'G-Man' Guerrero May 2, 2015

This is an issue not to be missed. Scott Snyder, Gene Luen Yang, and Geoff Johns are changing everything we know about Batman, Superman, and the Justice League. Don't dismiss this as a novelty comic for Free Comic Book Day. This is the real deal. These pages are essential to readers of the regular series. The writing and the art on each part was truly amazing. If you haven't gone to your local comic shop yet and are sitting there reading this, you need to get there right away and get yourself a copy. Everything is changing. Read Full Review

    Newsarama - David Pepose Apr 28, 2015

Of course, when it comes to Free Comic Book Day offerings, it's easy to speculate - indeed, many of the books offered are teases towards a larger storyline. It remains to be seen if DC sticks the landing with any of these three storylines, but in terms of high concept and sheer marketability, DC has one of the better books this weekend. If you're interested in seeing what's next for DC's biggest heroes following Convergence, you'll likely want to check this book out. Read Full Review

Flip Geeks - Paul Ramos May 7, 2015

Divergence offers both jaded and new comic readers/lovers a good starting point on DC's premier heroes (and team). Though a prior reading of the title's respective previous arcs is highly suggested (for new readers) and Romita, Jr's artistic style may turn off some, nevertheless, Divergence fulfills the objective of grabbing the readers' attention, and most possibly, readers may continue reading future installments or succeeding issues. This is indeed an excellent free issue! Read Full Review

Yet Another Media Site - Kevin Finnigan May 3, 2015

DIVERGENCE was a good Free Comic Book Day book for DC. While Marvel had a misstep in trying to get people read for SECRET WARS, DC focused on their characters and why should love them. Read Full Review

    Comicosity - Matt Santori May 2, 2015

A fun primer giving readers who have been holding off a good jumping on point for some truly outrageous stories, Divergence #1 is exactly the kind of storytelling the best of the New 52 has provided. And as only the first of 43 total 8-page original stories fans can get for free in the month of May, this book is a fun start to what will be a fun year, no matter what kind of stories you enjoy. "Divergence" accomplishes what an FCBD book is meant to do: intrigue readers with an idea so that they'll pick up the first issue of the new arc. What happens once they do is up to the creative team. Read Full Review
