As the fledgling society of new Earth threatens to disintegrate into chaos, can the raw power of the Green Lantern overcome the godlike abilities of Doctor Impossible? Or is Alan Scott just a man, after all?
I don't have any major complaints about Earth 2: Society and the art is just too good for me to even let go. We get to see the different personalities of characters that haven't been able to share the spotlight with our major players, but in this issue you can appreciate the way that Wilson wrote them in the story. The conflict that has been built up since the beginning has now come to an end and now we can get to see where the storyline will be taken to and I'm curious to see what we have in store. Overall, the issue was fine and it was entertaining to see the heroes come together. I have certain problems with the artwork as well as how the creative teams introduce new plot points/characters. That being said, I am interested to see where they take the story now that the team is together and they have formed their own Justice Society. Read Full Review
Reading the book was a disappoint. I loved the earliest series by James Robinson but this just seems like a collect of action with no rhyme of reason. For fans of the book, I have a quick question, after Convergence DC went with a whole "continuity be damned" approach to storytelling. As such, why can't there be a regular Justice Society book in the same vein as the New Teen Titans book? Read Full Review
Overall, there is some fun dialogue and cool action that do make this an easy read. However, the tone combined with confused character motivations make it a little frustrating for me. Read Full Review
Earth 2: Society continues to disappoint as we get done this story arc, that really didn't feel like it served a purpose. Yeah, we got introduced to some villains, but with characters magically knowing where to go and what was going down out of nowhere, I have to wonder if DC thinks it's readers are too stupid to care about a coherent story. I love all the characters that are depicted in this book, but I'm on the verge of never wanting to see them again because of how poorly they're represented here. Read Full Review
Pretty weak. Conflict resolved too easily and Kara + Val go from frenemies to teaming up from one second to the next. Poor dialogue too. Abnett takes over after this so should be much better.
So terrible. So bad. What are they thinking?
