The finale of "Keystone Kops!" The mutated Officer Andrew Kelly goes on a rampage under the influence of Dr. Alchemy! As Batman joins members of Gotham Central pursuing their own, Renee Montoya tries to bring the mad scientist responsible for it all back into custody.
The art has adopted a brighter, somewhat bolder style, and while this does make the action on the page much easier to follow, it has robbed the title of some of its dramatic impact, as Gotham City is no longer quite so oppressive. On the other hand, the trade off is that the action has a little more momentum in its corner, as Stefano Gaudiano offers up a very exciting final clash between the transformed police officer and the arriving police. The art also conveys the full impact of the scene where the bullet finds its target, and I was actually momentarily surprised that the art had offered up such a graphic image. However, I can't deny the sheer dramatic impact of the panel where the transformed officer tumbles to the street. The art also nicely conveys Montoya's boiling rage as she lashes out at Doctor Alchemy, who is clearly enjoying the chaos that he's set into motion.
