“Sunshine Getaway”
Harley was trying to take a nice and quiet post-breakup vacation into the SLAUGHTER SWAMP, but disaster strikes when a bunch of creeps kidnap her beloved hyenas Bud and Lou. Time for her to put a very particular set of skills to use and kick some ass!
Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red Chapter Ten does reference Harley's relationship with the Joker. Far too many chapters have. But it's someone else she's in pursuit of delivering something a little bit different. There's a grittiness in the art and story that's a bit different than the releases so far. It again shows off how many different spins you can give to a character and it's been entertaining to see what each creator delivers. This is a solid chapter. It's an interesting story that comes from real and is then combined with the insanity that comes with a Harley Quinn story. The action is cool as well. I don't love the art but it's an enjoyable read. Read Full Review
Dani brings in a good number of jokes along the way and some really great designs that make for a very distinctive issue. I love just about how every page looks and that I'm likely to see new details every time I re-read it in the future. The book goes for a kind of standard level of Harley violence here but the design work plus it taking place in Florida just kind of give it a little more intensity. Dani definitely captures Harley well visually and in the script but it just needed a little more oomph in some direction that I can't quite pin down to move it up to the next level. Read Full Review
Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red #10 is a feast for the eyes as you unravel Dani's frenzy of lines and color that make for a pretty picture. There's simmering energy underneath it all even though the plot is paper-thin. Read Full Review
