The JLI has one last chance to stop the alien powerhouse known as Peraxxus before he and his Signalmen bring about the end of the world. Will the team be able to work together, or will they bear the responsibility for Earth's destruction?
The opening arc hasn't been great, but it hasn't had the huge ups and downs of the less consistent Justice League, either. The final panel makes me thing we'll soon see another old friend from the Giffen days as well. Worth a look. Read Full Review

Justice League International #5 is the best issue of the series to date, but it's still not going to command a huge following. The story is pretty much by-the-numbers for afternoon cartoon fare, making it diverting and approachable; however, spending $3 each month for something that's merely diverting is not a decision that I can see many readers making. These creators are too skilled to leave this title at such a superficial level of development, but, until they delve more deeply into the characters, I can't recommend this book. Read Full Review

I liked the concept of this international Justice League. The roster had some interesting surprises, but somewhere after the start, this book fizzled, settling into being ordinary. Jurgens and Lopresti have the capability to deliver extraordinary work individually; I hope we get to see them do so collectively in the near future. Read Full Review

This series has fallen in quality, but hopefully it may pick up. The potential is there and now that this plot is over we can get some depth to these characters, especially the forgotten female ones. However the cliff-hanger does not inspire high hopes, as it seems like another tired and formulaic idea. It maybe a bright and vibrant book, but it is becoming a hollow spectacle. Read Full Review
Given how impossible the story seemed in the preceding issue, the wrap-up here isn't even all that bad. The description of Godiva's struggles and fears are a highlight of this issue.
