It's the Justice League vs. the Suicide Squad for the salvation of Earth's Super-Villains! Plus, catch up with Red Tornado and his changes since the first arc of JUSTICE LEAGUE tore his life apart.

I found Justice League of America #18 to be a rather fun read. The main story offers up plenty of action and adventure while the pleasant and nicely done back-up story offers up an enjoyable character study. I think this issue will appeal to comic book readers who enjoy classic action and adventure stories. Read Full Review

Ignoring one laughable caption in which Black Lightning calls The Key, Polaris and eight other jobbers "the ten worst criminals this world has to offer," this issue is generally entertaining. And if the story is headed where I think it is – with the JLA thrown into the mix of super-villains on the aptly named Hell Planet – then it might just turn out to be very entertaining. But that still won't change the fact that it's playing second fiddle to the far more enjoyable Salvation Run. I can only hope there's bigger, more interesting and original things in store for this title following Final Crisis. Read Full Review

The Weekly Crisis - Kirk Warren Feb 20, 2008

Now that I've made excuses for him, this issue was another dud. It was better than the last one, but not by much. I don't care about anything that's happening here. There's no tension or drama. None of the Suicide Squad members pose any threat to the League and the story hasn't progressed in the slightest. The villains that surrendered are simply put in cells and the JLA talks to Waller. She sends the Squad in during the meeting to try and retrieve the villains and the issue ends. Read Full Review

The Coloring Book: Sorry, trying to amuse myself with alliteration here. I'm referring to the art. The art as a whole has degenerated as this series has gone on. Benes' art looks like little more that some high school kids sketchbook of his favorite comic book characters with little to no focus on backgrounds. Panel layouts are inconsistent, and the story-telling just does not flow well. Fight scenes are yawn inducing, little better than people just passing by each other and knocking each other over. There is no good explanation of powers at play or exhibition of true super-power. This is the Justice League of America! Not Wrestlemania folks! Well, I'm crapped out on this whole sordid mess. Maybe after Final Crisis we'll get a great Justice League again, but with DC's track record the year after Infinite Crisis, I'm not holding my breath. Read Full Review
