The Justice League turn themselves over to the U.S. government to be sent to prison off-world! What old foe will they have to rely on to save themselves from the hellacious planet they've ventured to?

Justice League of America #19 was simply an ordinary read. If you aren't a fan of Salvation Run then you will certainly be disappointed with this issue. Despite its flaws, I did enjoy Meltzer's run on this title. However, ever since Meltzer left, this title has rapidly declined. Justice League of America is in desperate need of some interesting plotlines. Right now there is practically nothing going on this title. I would only recommend this issue to anyone who is a big fan of either the JLA or Salvation Run. Read Full Review

What the heck has happened to what was once DC's flagship title? Say what you want about Brad Meltzer's convoluted whodunnits and his propensity for needless multi-perspective narration, but his run on this series' first dozen issues at least had a direction and consistent tone. That hasn't been the case since, and I blame the apparent editorial handcuffs that have been placed on the book and its writers. With a Final Crisis tie-in arc on the horizon, it doesn't look like McDuffie will be free to tell his own brand of story for some time. Instead of giving James Robinson another Justice League title to tell original, distinct stories, maybe the higher-ups at DC should have just allowed someone to do so with the JLA title that currently exists. Or does that make too much sense? Read Full Review

At Wizard World LA, the announcement was made that James Robinson would be launching a second Justice League title starring Hal Jordan and Green Arrow, two original members, and would focus more on hunting down villains. So basically its the Outsiders. I think before a new Justice League title is launched, the main one needs to be saved and given some kind of direction. I mean, this is the pre-eminent group of super-heroes in all of comic books and they are entirely inconsequential. So unless you really like Ed Benes artwork, or you really like Salvation Run, skip this issue, there are a lot of titles much better than this, even Johnny DCs Super-Friends. Read Full Review
