What do you get when you mix the deadly Suicide Squad with the Fist of Cain killer cult and Rose Tattoo, the resurrected goddess of murder? A very, very bad day for Amanda Waller.
New Suicide Squad #21 brings us to the end of Tim Seeley and Juan Ferreyra's New Suicide Squad run. And I couldn't be more proud of what they accomplished here. They came with a strong understanding of what made this team tick, what made them villains, what made them human, and of what can go wrong. If you are looking for a fresh take on Suicide Squad that is entertainment value at it's finest, this would be your go to run. Here's to hoping the Rebirth team can produce something as good. Overall, I enjoyed the storyline and found the ending to be fitting, as well as fun. What really drives the storyline, and this issue, are the surprises and attention to each character throughout. I look forward to the next installment to the NEW SUICIDE SQUAD and I hope that it is written with the same quality asthis issue. Read Full Review
All in all, New Suicide Squad #21 is a thoroughly entertaining and action packed read featuring the Worst Heroes Ever with a dose of the esoteric that you would expect from a Batwoman comic. Read Full Review
Seeley closes out the current arc with this issue, and the story is satisfying in almost every way. This is easily the best run for New Suicide Squad, and I'm going to be so sad to see this team go after next month's issue. The fact that DC would put Seeley and Ferreyra on this title for such a short time almost feels cruel, because I can't imagine another creative fitting as perfectly as these two do. Go pick up this issue/ run (whichever is relevant)! You'll be doing yourself a disservice if you don't! Read Full Review
A solid final issue to a story arc that went just a little too long. There was an artist change here, but Juan Ferreyra stuck around to do some plotting and finishes that helped make the transition more seamless. I like this team, and especially like the patter between Harley Quinn and Deadshot, but I feel like it began so long ago I don't even remember all the details anymore. This is a good creative team that I wouldn't have minded seeing more from, unfortunately Suicide Squad Rebirth debuts next month and Tim Seeley will be plying his words with new artists! Let's see how that goes. Read Full Review
