Mr. Terrific, Plastic Man, Metamorpho, and Phantom Girl have stopped the Terribles from turning back time on earth...so, yay! Solicit over, now it's party time! And...wait a tick...hey, Bizarro! Get away from Bgtzl! That's a bad Bizarro! Very, very bad! You're not supposed to alter that entire planet's position in space-time! Wait...you have to talk to him backward, right? That's a very good thing you're...um...not doing, Bizarro!
A really good issue that shows the ability of the storytellers to tell a time loop plot. Read Full Review
Terrifics #23 is a Star Trek-style story infused with a strange wackiness found in most Doom Patrol books, resulting in one WEIRD experience. And that's okay. Read Full Review
Even though it took way too long to get here, this is easily the best issue of Yang's run and shows some of the same creative spirit he brought to Superman Smashes the Klan. Read Full Review
Overall, this was a good jumping in point for this series, and I'm going to stick with it for a while. Read Full Review
This whole storyline against Bizarro has a lot that's worth appreciating, but I'm also excited to see what stories The Terrifics can tell beyond that. Read Full Review
While writer Gene Luen Yang and artist Sergio Davila's actual narrative in The Terrifics #23 is a bit of a mess, Yang's got a cool storytelling mechanic in this issue that keeps things from completely drowning under all the Bizarro weirdness. Read Full Review
fun and enjoyable. love this issue. can't wait for the next issue.
Prelude:
This recent story from Gene Luen Yang has been a bunch of fun. Let's see how this issue goes.
The Good:
It's a really fun issue.
Some good art from Davila.
I loved the looping scene.
The Bad:
Nothing.
Conclusion:
It's just a lot of fun. Seeing the Terrifics like this was funny and the art was good, especially with the time loop scene.
A step to the right direction, but please, end with all this Bizarro stuff! There's absolutely no need to drag this for so long, especially when this book used to have 2-3 issue arcs before.
