  Zatanna #5 is another great issue that slows the pace down a little and gives us the most character work for Zatanna herself that we've seen so far. There's still some great chaotic action and plenty of magic, both in the story itself and the way it's crafted.   I’m continuing to really enjoy the book, but I also kind of dread each issue to some degree because it is so dense and is trying to cover so much. The magic side of DC has long been expansive and varied with so many neat corners to explore, and that lets the Zatanna series tackle a lot of fun stuff and refresh it for the modern era. I like the revisit to the Hidden City here, and the clarity of its past for Zatanna, but it’s a lot to take in and the flow is something that feels stacked and requires a bit of effort to fully engage with. You almost feel like skimming at times! But that artwork just demands a lot and intense poring over to enjoy with how gorgeous it is. Read Full Review
