A new dimensional shift finds our heroine with sharpened canines, an eye-catching monokini, and a taste for blood...but if that's what it takes to stop the Great Old Ones from destroying our reality, pour her a Type O plasma on the rocks! The Crisis on Infinite Betties continues, and only our Pin-Up Protagonist can save the multiverse, in part two of the epic four-part saga from writer David Avallone (ELVIRA: MISTRESS OF THE DARK) and artist Julius Ohta (SHERLOCK HOLMES.)
Overall, Bettie Page: Unbound #2 continues to be a fun adventure for the titular character. Her dive into other worlds from the Dynamite Comics lineup is ridiculous fun. This comic has never taken itself too seriously and leans into its overly campy nature, something I seriously appreciate. If you enjoy any of Dynamite Comics' leading ladies or just need a lighter read in your pull, I highly recommend this book. Read Full Review
Bettie Page Unbound started off strong with its first issue but takes such beautiful leaps here that I'm in love. Avallone's script is great and the dialogue is exactly what it needs to be but Ohta and Wright with the designs and color work with its heavy reds and blacks just makes this absolute gorgeous. Fans of Vampirella must own this book and it's the kind of work that needs to be seen outside of the usual fans in a big way. I'm pretty much just gushing over this project in general but this installment clicked for me unlike any other Bettie Page book so far. I'm excited to see what comes next as something a little Barsoom-like is on the horizon. Read Full Review
Overall. A really strong issue, which allows us to see Bettie as a Vampire for the first and hopefully not the last time. Read Full Review
BETTIE PAGE UNBOUND #2 of course ends with Bettie crossing into yet another Dynamite property, pretty much guaranteeing that readers will come back to see how she handles this new incarnation and environment. While it's not a crossover, per se, there's a certain charm in seeing Bettie Page taking on the role of the many female hero properties licensed to Dynamite. It's definitely enough to bring this reader comign back for more as Avallone and Ohta deliver a unique Crisis on Infinite Betties story. Read Full Review
Bettie Page: Unbound is a fun trip through the heroines from Dynamite Entertainment. We've seen Red Sonja and now Vampirella with more to come. This one plays with the horror genre, turning it on its ear and playing with the aspects of the genre we love. Bettie has an infectious enthusiasm about this adventure, so it's easy to get wrapped up in this, even when she's drinking blood. Read Full Review
It's a difficult balance to play with a real character, multiple costume changes, universe-hopping and Yog-Sothoth, but this one pulls it off with aplomb. Read Full Review
