The issue opens with Sonja participating in a high stakes card game. When things go awry, she escapes into the city where she meets up with her team and head underwater. Soon, Sonja is tasked with rescuing a mysterious woman with a dangerous background. Later, she must make a difficult decision when a request for help involves a deadly potential enemy.The Story: Andreyko crafts an interesting narrative in the premiere chapter of this limited series. I think this storyline of advanced technology and star-crossed lovers has a lot of potential and I am curious as to how it will develop.The illustration in this edition features a realistic modern design with bold colors and extreme detail in both character and background. I will be the first to admit that I may not have given Legendary Red Sonja the attention she deserves, possibly for a couple of reasons. One, I like Sonja in her time for the most part; Amy Chu's fun run is an exception to that rule. Secondly, there is a ton of Sonja books and runs published by Dynamite. With that said, I was quietly impressed by this one-shot, maybe it's time to revise my stance a little. Read Full Review

He manages to highlight Red Sonja's sensuality as well as her ability to fight, illustrating sequences that show that beyond Sonja's bravery, her flexibility and agility give her a great advantage.
