I really enjoyed this run overall and while things do end predictably, it's the execution that makes it as strong as it is. Sonja is very much in character here with what she does and how she operates, Sitha gets a great couple of moments and provides a strong end-narration to it, and the exploration of why these women did what they did works well. The larger series itself really is strong and I am envious of those that get to binge through it and savor it in a collected form at some point. I really hope we get a collected version of all the covers for it as well as its own work because there is so much gorgeous material produced for it that many will never see in full. I can't wait to see what any of the members of this team put out next and this will stand out as one of my favorite Sonja stories ever. Read Full Review

While there's no telling what's next for the main Sonja book after this, this is a compelling note to go out on. Read Full Review

Following the battle, the issue ends with a prolonged epilogue filling in a bit of the details of Sitha's life post-Sonja (without getting into specifics about any adventures she may have had). Sonja and Sitha was an interesting pairing, and while it was destined to be short, I am sorry to see it come to an end, especially in an issue we don't see much interaction between them (although Dynamite is already exploring Sitha's further adventures in other comics). RED SONJA (VOL. 6) #12 ends with a few heartwarming moments and a new status quo that dovetails Sitha into her Red Sitha series. However, Sithas new status quo is less intriguing, and the overall art in this issue is sloppy. Read Full Review

For a final issue of this incredibly long arc, it was over very quickly and I didn't feel there was ever any true danger to Sonja. She walks up and grabs the god by the throat and even has time to make a speech without the god fighting back at all. I know Sitha couldn't continue into the next arc, but I didn't feel there was a good closure to that relationship. We don't even see Sonja saying goodbye. All we know is she dropped her off stayed for a bit and left. Kind of disappointing.
