Mystery, murder, and mayhem descends on Riverdale as four of your favorite comic book women meet for the first time. A string of paranormal, unsolved murders leads the vampire hunter Vampirella and her sword-wielding barbarian partner Red Sonja to the small, sleepy town where things always seem to happen... There they discover Betty and Veronica, investigative reporters for the high school newspaper, also hot on the trail of the same killer.
As with many of the improbable Archie character team ups, I didn't think that this could work. It works tremendously. It's got a bit of off panel violence, with the majority of the issue focused on introducing the threat and showing how Vampirella and Sonja try to blend into Riverdale High with help from Betty and Veronica. The characters are absolutely true to their incarnations in other series, with both sets of women having some terrific lines and moments. The visuals were equally good; I loved the characters' expressions. This has absolutely no reason to be so fun, but it absolutely is. This is not your usual comic book team up. Read Full Review

The book has fun quality to it that might upset "serious minded" Sonja and Vampi fans, perhaps that is the Betty and Veronica effect with the pair driving the tone of the book rather than engaging in any real action elements. Still, I have complete faith in Amy Chu, so It will be interesting to see how this series progresses. Read Full Review
Overall, Red Sonja and Vampirella Meet Betty and Veronica #1is a solid start to a crossover series and fun more light-hearted comic to add to your pull list. If you can look past the mediocre art, which I do hope will improve in future issues, this is a great read, especially for fans of Archie Comics, Archie Comics crossovers, or the classic leading ladies of Dynamite Comics. RED SONJA AND VAMPIRELLA MEET BETTY AND VERONICA #1 is a fun crossover event. It makes about as much sense as your average Scooby Doo episode, but there's definitely a level of charm to it. If the premise sounds enticing, you'll probably enjoy it. Read Full Review
If you want to see your favorite duo from Dynamite and Archie meet up and hang out at school then you'll want to sink your fangs in. If you are in for the mystery then maybe hope for the next time. Read Full Review
