Woo-oo! In "The Great Experiment of the Washing Machine," Donald and the Nephews visit a top-secret lab, chock-full of crazy inventions to make life easier... but might make them SHORTER, instead! And then, learn "The Chilling Secret of the Lighthouse!"
If you're a new or old fan of the Ducks, I can highly recommend Ducktales #1. The only recommendations I could make are slightly bigger font and an appearance by Uncle Scrooge, who has yet to appear in the series! Otherwise, an absolutely fantastic read! Read Full Review
There are some funny moments, and they manage to give each character a distinctive trait, and voice. If you are like me you are reading the dialog in the voices you remember in your head, so Donald's tirades and Huey, Dewey, and Louie yelling for "Uncle Donald" will make you smile. If you have newer fans of a younger generation and want to give them something to read, go right ahead. Read Full Review
The stories have different artists, but both Luca Usai (“Lighthouse”) andGianfranco Florio (“Washing Machine”) continue the tradition of pulling from 1940s Donald Duck comics. Its one of my favorite things about the reboot, and Im thrilled to see it continue on both show and book. The short tales are great, but I hope that an overarching plot emerges before long. Based on the teaser of issue #2, which features Della Duck on a quest with Donald and Scrooge, readers probably won't have to wait for clues to a much larger mystery. Read Full Review

So by all means give in and enjoy these pre-Duckburg adventures, as the three nephews continue to be up to something with Donald Duck along for the ride. Read Full Review
So, much to my regret, I will have to say to the reader: don't spend money on this comic. Let your kid look at it in the store to see if it's worth a pick up. It's not terrible, but there are allot of "not terrible" books that my son has more interest in that doesn't require me using a Donald Duck speech impediment. Read Full Review
A forgettable comic that misses most of its opportunities to shine. Read Full Review
This first issue will probably sell a lot of copies to guys my age who grew up watching DuckTales, are waxing nostalgic, and are excited to see it coming around. I think IDW blew their chances here of getting that audience to buy the second issue. Read Full Review
