First Strike #3 is a prime example of how you do an event. Three issues in and the story is flowing along as our ragtag team, comprised of characters from multiple properties, stands ready to face what comes next. So much so that they jump to another world to take on Joe Coltron and his villainous band without fully knowing what they're up to. It's easy to recommend this title because you really should be buying it. Read Full Review

Like Revolution before it, First Strike succeeds in capturing the fun and zaniness of being a kid and mashing action figures together. Read Full Review

Issue three of the story is pretty awesome and as I read it everything flowed. I enjoyed the well timed humour. Seeing the different teams both good and evil having similar difficulties as they merge as one team was pretty cool. I always fell like the lines are going to be blurred for both teams as the war continues I look forward to witnessing further twists. The extra tale at the end of the issue is always something I look forward to as well reading the origins of Evil. Uhk, as a twin myself, I find stereotypical twin characters (in this case, Skyburst and Stormclash) completing each other's sentences to be incredibly offensive. I like the guards in the opening pages having their little 15 minutes of fame before all hell breaks loose. The rest of the issue is just an exercise of getting from point A to point B, it's nothing special. The backup story is a little disturbing.
