    Comic Crusaders - Al Mega

    Jun 29, 2026

Fixation #1 is for readers who like horror with mystery, fandom critique with empathy, and vampire nostalgia served with a side of “yo, maybe do not meet your heroes in a murder house.” Pre-order this one before August 3, because when September 9 hits, Vail is opening its doors, Blood Mountain is calling its faithful, and somebody is ready to turn fandom into a crime scene. Capes & Tights - Justin Soderberg

Fixation takes a bit of familiar pieces and twists them into something that ultimately feels fresh and unsettling. Amy Chase brings a tense mystery, while Savanna Mayer illustrates the eerie vibes in this oversized thought-provoking premiere issue that had me guessing. Fixation is a gripping and unnerving story that proves fandom can be just as terrifying as anything else, making for crime story worth diving into. Read Full Review

Fixation offers plenty of viable suspects in this double-sized issue. This was a promising start to the series that should be very enticing to fans of either genre. Read Full Review

Nerd Initiative - Eda Thomas Bagwell

Overall, Amy Chase’s “Fixation #1” is solid and sticks the initial landing while leaving room for more. While the art admittedly holds it back a tiny bit for me, it’s something I was still able to easily sink my teeth into as a slasher fiend. While not perfect, I’m still very interested to see where this goes! Read Full Review

    Graphic Policy - Brett

Fixation #1 has a good concept and has a little more to say than being a simple slasher. Well worth checking out for horror fans. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Kevin Clark

Though the main characters are the least interesting aspect of the book, the book delivers some chills through drama between the supporting characters and haunting artwork. Read Full Review
