This makes Road of the Dead rather unpredictable. Just when you have an idea of where it's going to go next, the story takes a sharp turn. In a world with a glut of zombie stories, this one found something new and interesting. This is a stellar first issue and I can't wait to sink my teeth into more. Read Full Review
The issue has a mad max style biker gang that can be seen chasing the survivors later on and a bloody battle is beautifully drawn in detail. It uses the old questions that most zombie stories do in that in a world where the dead walk the earth: who are they ever real threats? It's always the humans over the zombies and by the close of the issue it is here too. I thoroughly enjoyed this issue and was a highly anticipating its release. It never dipped in its writing or artwork and I'm already loving the band of survivors. With the walking dead recently losing its main attraction on television, this is the watch to cure the undead blues. I highly recommend you pick up issue #1 of Road of the Dead: Higheay to hell. It's wild, it's mature and it'll leave you wanting more. Read Full Review

Until that moment, Road of the Dead: Highway to Hell #1 is a more than adequate placeholder. Read Full Review
With the heavier bits of exposition out of the way, hopefully the next issue can offer readers something deserving of Romero's legacy. Read Full Review
Fast paced action but a mediocre story makes this zombie tale drag along. Read Full Review
An O.K. continuation of Romero's Dead universe that is a bit more over-the-top than the movies, but does not fully dig the franchise out of the rut the last few films left it in. Read Full Review
