STAR TREK #5 is the strongest issue yet, Alexanders clumsy appearance notwithstanding. Loughridges coloring choices continue to impress as he takes advantage of the possibilities this story and setting offer. Rosanas and Tamayo close up strong character work and exciting space action with equal skill. Star Trek #5 is an action-packed frenzy of hand-to-hand combat and tough decisions. Sisko is still reeling from not really knowing who is speaking to him, while it's evident a god-killing weapon is probably bad for everyone. This story is not perfect. It makes some narrative leaps forced upon it by the pacing of the comic format. But it does have a massive scope, interesting conflicts and manages to focus on characters we love in the midst of extraordinary circumstances. Getting an original, impactful, forward moving Star Trek story with a great cast and strong, exciting art is a treat. Hopefully it truly is an inspiration for the larger Star Trek line going forward. Amazing book with a great story so far. Why are stories like this not making to into the televsion or movies? Nevermind I know why, but this book is what Star Trek should be. Just an amazing series so far.
