TMNT #80 will have long-time TMNT fans gasping with its outcome, and the issue continues to push this series in bold new directions. The art had its positives and negatives, as the lack of detail is disappointing, but it does deliver some good action sequences. It was teased in a backup story in TMNT Universe #19 that the Rat King is coming back into play after the Triceratons' invasion ends and we also get another nice teaser at the end of this issue that may have some larger implications as well! The Triceraton Invasion arc has been, for me, a bit of an ordeal, but in its conclusion Im left feeling positive again about the immediate future of the series. The Cosmic TMNT diversion finally seems to be at an end, leaving us to focus once again on the street-based drama and conflict that has been this series defining quality over the last six years. Plus, if this issue is anything to go by, the eventual showdown between Clan Hamato and the Splinter-led Foot Clan is going to be absolutely epic, and simply cant come soon enough. Read Full Review

The story was ok, but the art seems rushed and not quite as detailed as it usually is. This concerns me as a reader because TMNT books have a lazy history of sub-par artists. That said, there are spots where this looks like a well-plotted book, but this is a middle part of a story for sure, and really lacks the details in both writing, or scripting (because the dialogue is always spot on) and the art itself. this series has really gotten lukewarm and stale. while this conclusion was ok, i'm not all that thrilled with the anti-climatic ending. there were cool moments in this issue, but the ending felt rushed and really left me wanting more. i think if this arc didn't take 4 issues of dragging it's feet through build-up it wouldn't have been so disappointing.
