TMNT Universe #13 is another excellent entry into this series and provides great characterization to Karai, Bludgeon, and Koya. The art is absolutely stunning and Campbell continues to impress with each Issue. This arc has the mutants supporting the human characters. It makes a nice change. TMNT Universe #13 doesn't blow me away with huge revelations but it's far from perfunctory. Read Full Review
Mondo's descent into punk rock raging against the machine is a bit on the nose, but Ryan Ferrier provides a solid foil in how he writes Michelangelo and Pablo Tunica's loose linework and Patricia Delpeche's saturated colors are the perfect aesthetic for Mondo's worldview. Read Full Review
I love Sophie Campbell's art but I think the noses are hitting critical bulbousness, and need to be dialed back a bit.
Koya is turning into the Raphael of the group and stealing the show with her vulnerability. Bludgeon is pretty cool too, he's basically turning into Daredevil, which TMNT was largely inspired by.
a lot of exposition in this story, but it was necessary to plot.
i do enjoy the direction with the art, though a few faces looked a bit odd to me. still loved it very much though.
the legend of the sword was really cool. it was nice to see the reference of Takeshi Tatsuo from 'Secret History of the Foot Clan'.
Karai's out of body experience was very cool to see. love these Eastern spiritual moments.
the cliff-hanger at the end of the main story holds much promise.
