It's been months since I reviewed TMNT: Urban Legends. I don't remember most of the issue off of the top of my head but I do remember the cliffhanger of Shadow, Casey Jones daughter being kidnapped.
This issue picks up that thread and puts the focus on Raphael as he takes the lead in investigating the disappearance. The comic is a lot of fun and we get some great development for Raphael.
The evidence points to the Foot Clan being behind the disappearance. We discover that Raph has been running with the Foot Clan for a while and has a friendly relationship with them. He makes the point to his brother's that he's the only one of them without a life outside being a Ninja so it only made sense that he woul more
a very solid issue.
even though i'd read this issues years ago in it's initial run,
it was nice to get to experience it in all-new color.
-great characterizations of the Turtles & co.
-reference to the 'City at War' story-arc (Tmnt Mirage)
-compelling debate among the brothers
-Raph's new relationship with the Foot Clan
-hell of a twist upon Raph's Mission for the Foot
even though these are just color reprints,
this is probably one of my favorite series right now.
this is a synthetic imitation of a Turtles comic.
*****SPOILERS AHEAD*****
it was laugh-out-load hysterical seeing Donatello beating up that inflatable Titanus doll.
and Raphael socking Casey in the mouth (though predictable) was also really funny.
this story fails as a Turtles comic, but totally wins as a parody.
