The Rocketeer returns to save Amelia Earhart in a brand-new story by creator Dave Stevens!
The year is 1938, and Cliff Secord (A.K.A. the Rocketeer) is recruited to lead a search and rescue mission. The mission? Find Amelia Earhart! Considering a year has passed since the famous pilot went missing, the Rocketeer is hesitant at first - that is, until he learns the expedition is to the same island Betty ran off to with the scummy photographer Marco! Mar 05, 2026This is a hell of a lot of fun if, like myself, you’re a fan of pulpy storytelling and classic old cartoon characters. But the big draw for me with this book is the fact that it’s based on a story by the late Dave Stevens, who created The Rocketeer back in the early 1980s. Read Full Review

Jan 14, 2026The premiere issue of The Rocketeer: The Island is just what I wanted from this series, an excellent foundation for an adventure into the unknown with a great setting and amazing cast of characters. John Layman crafts a tale that would make Dan Stevens proud and along with Jasob Edgar gives their own touch to it, making for an excellent series debut. Read Full Review

Jan 16, 2026The Rocketeer: The Island #1 is a reminder of why this character endures: adventure, romance, history, and heart, all wrapped in a jetpack. It's bold, imaginative, and unapologetically fun. Don't sleep on this one make sure to place your order with your local comic shop, because Cliff Secord's latest adventure takes off on February 25, 2026. It's one worth chasing into the clouds. Feb 25, 2026The Rocketeer: The Island #1 succeeds because it understands that the character works best when he is caught between his own small-scale problems and world-altering events. As the comic ends, and you see Cliff fly toward the horizon to see the impossible, you find yourself fully invested in the journey of what comes next. < Read Full Review

Feb 25, 2026While there’s a lot to love in The Rocketeer: The Island #1, there are some issues holding it back. At times, the ’30s dialogue can go overboard and immediately take you out of the story. The first issue also takes a bit to really get going, and it’s not really until halfway through that the book starts to coalesce and take off. Now that things are set, hopefully the second issue can just hit the ground running and never look back. If it does, we could be in for something incredibly fun that franchise fans will love.
