Zaucer of Zilk turned out to be right up my alley. Brendan McCarthy and Al Ewing created a world thats this shy of being just a crazy comic for the sake of being crazy, but succeeds in being a clever tale. I hope this comic gets more attention, because McCarthys art deserves more notice, and this comic needs all the eyes it can get. This is the epitome of a pleasantly different comic. If youre looking for a truly unique comic reading experience, look no further than Zaucer of Zilk. Read Full Review
Overall, the Zaucer of Zilk is a fantastic comic book for those readers who approach comics with an open-mind and love for the abnormal. Those seeking a more grounded, and atypical approach to modern storytelling might me turned off and I would suggest they look elsewhere for their comic fix. Otherwise, pick up this book, take a cue from our narrator by pouring yourself a drink, and enter the world of Zaucer of Zilk. Read Full Review
The Zaucer of Zilk is a trip and a half. The story isn't perfect, but it takes risks by being so out there. The art does elevate the places where the story lacks. This first issue is definitely a risk, at for the most part it pays off. It has my interest, but it's hard to judge it until the story concludes with issue 2 and you can see the whole picture. You may already know if you are a 2000AD fan. I'm certainly sticking around, but for now it's a 3.5/5 Read Full Review
The story of the comic as I mentioned earlier was done very well and if you know anything about my reviewing at OGN I do not like to give spoilers. While it wasn't quite my cup of tea I'm sure there are some people out there that want a psychedelic comic so here it is. If you are into comics that involve other worldly events with concepts and ideas that belong in an “Alice in Wonderland” type of world, with some good humor and a solid hero story I definitely recommend jumping onto Zaucer of Zilk ASAP!
