Lovecraft was prolific. Messina has a huge playground to move around in for a series with his work as a foundation. Three women dont know each other, and theyre all descendants of the same guy...AND they all have great cats that (evidently) only they can see as spirit guides. Its such an appealing contemporary horror fantasy. Messina and company really have something here, and it feels so cleverly formed even in the first panel. Read Full Review
There is one massive and a few smaller stories to discover in the pages of 3Keys #1. Reader's know from the prologue there is one key we haven't met yet. Also, there is the question of why Dale and Noah's mentors "train them differently. Noah parties hard and isn't hard on the eyes. But with the multiverse at stake hopefully there is more to unlock. Suffice it to say that introducing your main character in a scene that derides your audience with an ugly stereotype seems like a bad way to win that audience over. Perhaps if the remainder of 3Keys #1 was more impressive I might have moved off that scene. But the issue never recovered, and I cant find enough positive qualities to recommend it. Read Full Review

Comic books are largely a visual medium so it's easy to see this book gaining a following on the strength of the art alone, but it's going to need a stronger script to truly make it a standout. Read Full Review
The art is great the plot is generic and the dialogues are cringe inducing, most likely an high school pitch made reality a decade later.
Oof. This felt like I was reading deleted scenes. And hot chicks at comic stores sell more comics? Yeah, sure, okay. That's why I've been buying comic for the majority of my life 🙄. Get the fuck outta here.
