Things are going bad for Marcus. Surely, that comes as no surprise to anyone familiar with the series. You may even be saying “Things are going bad for Marcus” could be the series’ subtitle, but now things are really going bad. With the emergence of another threat of great numbers, great power, and zero responsibility the end for the King's Dominion gang may finally be approaching. This issue has everything that has kept this book so great, puts us on the track for another exciting chapter, and restores an unpredictable nature to the narrative. Every page is filled with a creepy art style and it made me feel uncomfortable, but not in a way that I wanted to stop reading, but rather in a way that makes me want to keep exploring this world and these characters. By the end of the book, these characters have experienced death and betrayal, you know, typical high school stuff. As I mentioned before, this was my first time reading a Deadly Class comic, but thanks to this issue I'll be sure to check out the next issue when it releases. As an overall arc, I'm not sure how this fits in the whole picture, but as a stand-alone issue, it had enough to keep me wanting more. Read Full Review
It's a satisfying read, especially if you're up to speed on the series, but the long delay between issues might make it hard for people to jump on board this moving train if they haven't re-read the last couple. Read Full Review
Deadly Class #43 starts like any other issue and then veers wildly in another direction before coming back around to more usual Deadly Class territory. In some ways, Remender changing things up is pretty great, but then one realizes that even the change is just another twist that he would usually use and it robs it of a lot of its impact. Here, the rubber meets the road. The arc overall has been a pacing nightmare and the character motivations/actions a patchy scramble. Granted, maybe I was just starved for some action after so much tedium. But no matter the reason, I was enthralled by Craig and Remender's actionpalooza. Read Full Review
