Final Boss #1 might lay on its influences a little too thick, but its premise and visual aesthetics are brimming with promise. Read Full Review

Graphic Policy - Logan Dalton Nov 23, 2025

Tyler Kirkham's Final Boss has that old school 90s image feel with brutal fight scenes and a focus on style over substance. Seriously, this book at its peak when it shuts the hells up and has protagonist Brazen Bull work over his gimp mask wearing opponent in the ring that starts like an MMA fight and turns into something out of Mortal Kombat. Comic Watch - Marcell Hines Nov 19, 2025

Final Boss #1 is a solid opener to what looks to be a very adrenaline-pumping series. While the writing is a bit over the top, and the art can be hard to follow at times, it does exactly what it sets out to do. Read Full Review

Comical Opinions - Gabriel Hernandez Nov 20, 2025

There's enough punch, myth, and style in FINAL BOSS #1 to warrant a return to the ring, but only for those ready to trade subtlety for spectacle. It's a rowdy, bruising opener that swings for legend and lands mostly on its feet, if not entirely on target. If you've already got taste for dirt-under-the-nails comic brawls, the book is worth a round. Just don't expect to leave with all your teeth. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff Nov 19, 2025

It's kind of cool to see the stats of the opponents as they enter the ring. The game like quality of the conflict is a pleasant, little gimmick that lends some novelty to what could otherwise be a thoroughly forgettable opening is you to likely tedious series of slugfests. The real challenge is going to lie in amplifying the intensity of everything incrementally. Theoretically this could get into absurdly surreal over the top territory, and it would be just adorable. Every time Brazen wins, he gets a little bit more powerful. It would be fun to see him become a city taping Godmonster by the end of the series. That could be a fun turn for for everything. Otherwise it's just kind of pointless. Read Full Review

I've never read Final Boss before or anything related to it and it took me by surprise. I don't get the low scoring reviews and if you're just like me, I suggest to go for it. It's a lot of fun action, easy read, smooth pace, great art,... just good stuff.

What if instead of a blind Catholic son of a bum, Daredevil was ex military with a healing factor? That's pretty much my impression of this book. (I know the "instead of" pretty much stripped Daredevil of all of his main characteristics but that's the vibe I got.) It was fun. The art is pretty good and the writing and plot remind me of early Image stuff. Not groundbreaking or award winning, but fun nonetheless.

I don't what to think about this. It gives off the vibes of being some crazy 80's action movie, which is pretty cool, but the dialog feeling like someone used chat gtp. Which isn't very cool. I don't know, probably won't pick up issue #2.
